Youth Public Speaking and Performing Arts Studio · Calgary
At CAPTIVATE, we believe that public speaking is an art form, a critical skill, and a catalyst for lifelong leadership. Anyone can speak, but to speak with intention, to encapture a room, and to articulate large ideas with clarity, requires structured technical mastery and unwavering character.

Meet the founder
My journey with speech arts began in kindergarten, studying for 13 years under a master speech professor from Mount Royal University. Through more than a decade of rigorous work, I learned that public speaking is never simply about vocalizing words. It is about learning to speak effectively, authentically, and with real purpose.
As a competitive performer, I showcased at the Calgary Performing Arts Festival and the Kiwanis Festival. Those same tools opened real leadership doors early in life, from presenting city improvement initiatives directly to the Mayor of Calgary to appearing as a featured voice in news articles and live television. I capped off my classical training by earning my Associate in Speech and Drama from Trinity College London.
My philosophy rests on the three impulses that foster an exceptional speaker.
Training the mind for clear, concise, meaningful communication.
Cultivating real, authentic emotion to connect with any audience.
Mastering the technical, creative, and physical elements of delivery.

How we showcase progress
Progress looks different on every single child. By tailoring how we challenge our students, we meet them exactly where they are and grow alongside them. Confidence isn't like a traditional grade or a simple math equation—it’s dynamic, deeply personal, and hard to measure on paper. It shows up in how your child carries themselves, how they listen and articulate their ideas, and how they set themselves up for real-world success. Trust the process, stay patient, and get excited to see your child bloom.
To support that growth, our studio is built on total trust and openness. Here, students are encouraged to share their honest thoughts, ask every question, and feel completely comfortable saying, "I don’t know." No one is expected to be an expert public speaker on day one or pretend to be someone they’re not. We work together, learn together, and navigate both the victories and the learning moments as a team.
